MWC part 1

So the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 will start tomorrow but it seems like there are already a few interesting things popping up. I think I will be doing a few MWC related posts where I pick out what I found most interesting. That means I will most likely skip a few things like for example what phones Huawei announces.

Samsung Galaxy Beam
A new phone from Samsung which runs Android 3.2 (Gingerbread).
Hardware wise it has a 1GHz dual core CPU (my guess is Exynos), 4" 480x800 SAMOLED screen , support for HSPA, one 5 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and a 2000mAh battery.
Oh, and it also has a projector on the top. The projector can project images with a brightness of up to 15 lumens and/or as large as 50 inches, but no words on resolution.
Edit: The projector resolution is 640x360 according to this video.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 in 7 and 10 inch models
New tablet for Samsung running the latest version of Android, 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

Both of them have generally the same specs. 1GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, Super IPS+ screen, 3 megapixel rear camera and a VGA (0.3 megapixel) front facing camera.

The 10.1" version has a screen resolution of 1280x800 and will be available in a 16GB and a 32GB storage models.

The 7" model has a screen resolution of 1024x600 and will be available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models.

Both devices are going to be launched in the beginning of March.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
Sadly not much is know yet. Screen size will be 10.1" and it will come with a stylus, just like the Galaxy Note. That's pretty much everything we know for now.

Other stuff
Sony has announced two new phones. The Xpera P and Xperia U. These new phones will be in the "NXT Series" of phones, along with the soon to be released Xpera S.
It seems like the Xpera S will be the high end device. The Xpera P is the mid range device, and the Xpera U is the budget version.

Xpera S:
4.3" "Reality" screen with 1280x720 resolution.
1.5GHz dual core MSM8660 CPU and (probably) Adreno 220 GPU from Qualcomm (same as the HTC Evo 3D uses).
1GB of RAM.
12.1 Megapixel rear camera (full HD recording).

Xpera P:
4" "Reality" display with 960x540 resolution.
1GHz dual core CPU (ST-E U8500 NovaThor).
Mali-400 GPU (same as the Galaxy S 2 use).
8 Megapixel rear camera (full HD recording).
16GB of internal storage.

Xpera U:
3.5" "Reality" display with 854x480 resolution.
1GHz dual core CPU (ST-E U8500 NovaThor).
Mali-400 GPU (same as the Galaxy S 2 use).
512MB of RAM.
5 Megapixel rear camera (HD recording).
8GB internal storage.

All of them run Android 2.3, have NFC capabilities and also some other nice features up their sleeves like fast cameras, faster recharging and apparently a strip at the bottom which can change color depending on a few things like if someone is calling you.

A lot of other stuff were announced as well, but I won't be talking about them today.
